  • KIDS Introduction to Collecting Coins - FREE!! Saturday October 1, 2016
    10:00 am Christopher Boyer - Setting Kids’Imagination on Fire
    A workshop for the young (and young at heart!) who want to learn more about what beginners can collect. We will also see how chocolate coins are made, which are “strikingly” similar to how the Mint makes coins! Chocolate coins (as well as real ones) will be available to sort into your collection. Free to young collectors in attendance at the Coin Expo!

    10:45 a.m. Jeff Fournier • Setting Collecting on Fire
    A fun-filled workshop designed for adults and kids. Learn how to en¬courage kids to take up the hobby of coin collecting. Participants (Kids & Adults) will learn about ‘setting the kids’ imaginations on FIRE’

  • 12:30 pm: Francois Rufiange - The Numismatic Exam
    A fun and challenging activity to not only confirm whether or not you have a good coin examination technique, but also improve your coins grading skills! Registration is required for this workshop (maximum 20 participants).
    Exam session no 1: 12:30-13:00, 10 participants;
    Exam session no 2: 13:00-13:30, 10 participants;
    Presentation to correct the exam: 13:45-15:00, open only to those who wrote the exam.

It is with regrets that the book "Coins Are Like Songs: The Upper Canada Coppers, 1815-1841" by author Christopher Faulkner will not be released at the Toronto Coin Expo on October 1, 2016, due to printer issues.
The J. Douglas Ferguson Historical Research Foundation will advise of the of the future date once the printing has been completed and the book is ready for release.
